Go back Our Knox, Portion ReviewReleased in 2006 and made by Skruf AB, Knox portion is a “Value Priced” snus but, you wouldn’t know it from the high quality flavor it has! Knox portion is classified as a regular type portion which, as you may remember, means that each one goes thru an additional step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each portion to aid in the flavors marrying and releasing it faster in the lip. Skruf adds a bit less moisture than other manufacturers due to the higher amount of moisture in the snus its self. While this leaves the material a bit dryer than most regular type portions, the material that Skruf uses in Knox portion is a soft, teabag type material that stays comfortable as long as the flavor lasts which is about an hour and a half. Each can of Knox contains 24 portions that are a little less than one gram each and the Nicotine level is 8 mg per portion. Knox’s can is made of black plastic with a black label with gold colored lettering and yes, there is a used portion compartment under the checkerboard embossed cap but, enough about the can, you’re here for the taste! Like we said in the beginning, Knox portion is a “Value Priced” snus but the flavor is up there with the higher priced ones! Knox’s flavor is described as having a robust tobacco taste but, we taste other flavors in it as well. We do taste the flavor of quality tobaccos in the forefront but, the subtle flavor of dried herbs and citrus give the snus the taste and scent of black tea with a light flowery flavor that is really unique. Knox portion would make the perfect snus for the beginner that wants to experience what real Swedish snus tastes like without breaking the bank.
