Our Romeo y Julieta, Portion Review

Romeo y Julieta portion snus is another Cuban tobacco snus manufactured by the folks at Scandinavian Premium Tobacco AB. Romeo y Julieta portion is classified as a regular type portion meaning that the portions go thru an additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the snus to help the flavors meld together and release the flavor faster in the lip. The material Taboca uses for Romeo y Julieta is the same, teabag type material, they use in all their portion snus and is pretty comfortable under the lip for over 1 ½ hours. Each can has 24, one gram portions with each having 11 mg of Nicotine. Romeo y Julieta’s can is also just as special as the snus that’s in it! The can is metal with a rubberized coating on it and painted in the classic Romeo y Julieta cigar box colors. Unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in the lid but, enough about the can, let’s talk about the flavor! Like we said in the description of the can, Romeo y Julieta portion snus is pretty special in a couple of ways. First, Romeo y Julieta is made with only the finest Cuban tobaccos, hand selected from all over the island. Second, the purest mountain water from Norway is used in the manufacturing of it and third, Romeo y Julieta portion snus is made in Sweden to the strict standards that all Swedish snus is made and its flavor proves it! Along with the flavor of the Cuban tobacco, anise seed, which has a black licorice flavor, and lemon flavors are added to the snus that, when combined, create a unique flavor in the lip and aroma in the can! Another unique thing about Romeo y Julieta portion is the scent. Unlike most Swedish snus, Romeo y Julieta’s smell does not have a heavy ammonia scent. Just tobacco, anise and a hint of lemon! Even though this is what we think, we want you to decide! So why not add a can or two of Romeo y Julieta portion snus in your next order and let us know what you think, by leaving a review of your own! We’ll be looking forward to reading what you think!

i agree that the lid is a pain in the arse, but the snus itself is top quality. not quite monte cristo, and maybe not for everyone, but it is a good change from the general strong portions i'd been down to.

I was afraid to try this snus once I bought it as I like cigars, I like their smell, their flavour, and their touch. But I wasn't sure I wanted that inside a pouch in my mouth for two hours. This comment is a positive from my previous remark, but is also a negative for the snus family. The can itself looks nice and because its metal it feels nice to. The ash tray is on the bottom of the can which at first I thought looked nice, however the ashtray lid is plastic and every time I pick the can up it falls off. Fortunately I don't use them much so it wasn't a huge dilemma. The snus itself, well, thats a tricky question. The snus flavour is very subtle, and I mean very subtle. It was nice but it just didn't taste like snus. Its like buying sweet chile chicken and just tasting sweet. I live in Australia so I generally buy several cans at once and am starting to mix up my choices to find a prefered snus. Unfortunately this snus did not meet the cut and I really wanted it to. I have yet to finish the can and I usually go for something else when I have a snus. To summarize this comment this snus is not what I wanted out of a cigar styled snus. Cigars are supposed to be bold and complex and you should enjoy every moment of them. Snus is bit salty and you can feel it hit you like a tequila shot. this snus has none of those qualities.I give it a 2 out of 5.
