Go back Our Odens Stark Kanel, Strong Portion ReviewReleased in 2009 and made by Gajane, Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel (Cinnamon) portion snus is classified as an Extra Strong, regular type portion. “Extra Strong, Regular type? You guys are confusing us again!” Ok, let me try to explain it a bit. As you all know, regular type portions go thru an additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them. This aids in helping the flavors to mix together better and helps to release it faster when it’s in the lip. The Extra Strong classification is used for any snus that has over 14 mg of Nicotine per portion. Oden’s Extra Sterk Kanel portion is both! The portion material that Gajane uses for Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel is the same teabag type material that Gajane uses for all its portions and is comfortable in the lip for about 2 hours. Each can of Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel contains 24, one gram portions with each having a staggering 17 mg of Nicotine! The can that Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel portion comes in is made from black plastic with the Oden’s unique logo embossed in the lid but unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in it. Now that you know the basics, let’s look at the flavor! Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel’s flavor is pretty unique in the sense that it’s the only Extra Stark portion that is cinnamon flavored. Well, Oden’s regular strength Kanel is another one but Gajane is the only manufacturer to flavor a snus with cinnamon! The cinnamon flavor in Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel is strong but not overpowering. The cinnamon flavor actually mixes with the tobacco flavor to give it a cinnamon taste. Unlike most things flavored with cinnamon where the cinnamon tends to overtake anything it’s mixed with, Gajane uses just the right amount of it to allow you to tell it’s a cinnamon flavored snus while letting you taste the tobacco. There is a burn in the back of the throat though with Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel though. This we attribute to the cinnamon and the large amount of Nicotine in the snus. It’s not there for the entire time, only for the first 45 minutes and it’s really tolerable. While this is what we taste, we want to know what you taste! I posted a review earlier of Jakobsson's Wintergreen which I loved as well as General Onyx. But I hated this one I found it to be rather nasty I am glad I only ordered a few cans. I found the taste to be unexplainable not the cinnamon taste I had anticipated. You may enjoy it but I will pass on this one. Everyone has different tastes and likes so if you want to try it I would suggest get 1 or 2 to start with. If youre looking for a refreshing snus try Jakobsson's Wintergreen it's a winner.

Wow. I enjoyed the cinnamon flavor, sharp rather than sweet. The nicotine level is insane. I've been using snus or chewing tobacco for over 20 years and this is STRONG. I save this for use while working in the yard or something where my blood is pumping to accommodate the extra nicotine... sitting around I get a nicotine buzz like a first time chewer.
